Indiana Funeral Care - GreenwoodDebra Sue Tucker, born on December 20, 1956, in Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. A beloved member of her family, Debbie was a dedicated and caring individual who touched the lives of many.
Debbie’s professional journey included serving as a Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant at Needham Elementary from 1996 to 2004, followed by her work at Franklin College from 2004 to 2012. She loved making a difference in students’ lives every day and took great pride in contributing to a positive and supportive environment wherever she worked.
Family was at the heart of Debbie's life. She was a huge helper, always willing to go above and beyond for her loved ones. The joys of her life were her grandsons, Carson and Cameron Williams, whom she adored more than anything. Over the last year of her life, Debbie faced numerous health challenges with remarkable strength, determination, and grace. She fought valiantly to remain present with her family as long as possible, demonstrating her profound love and commitment.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Gary Tucker; her daughter, Cristy (Aaron) Williams; her grandsons, Carson and Cameron Williams; and her brother, John (Terry) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia (Sarver) Taylor and Bernard A. Taylor.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Raghavendra at St. Francis and Dr. Michael House at IU Health for their exceptional care during Debbie's difficult journey.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care – Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. A private memorial service for family only will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Adrenal Cure Collective, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for adrenal cancer research.
