Debra P. Walker was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 13, 1956, to the late Wallace T. and Lilly F. Patterson. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Debra was born and raised in New Orleans, where she was baptized at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She graduated from Alcee Fortier Senior High School in 1976, then attended Delgado Community College and St. Matthias School of Typing. After high school, Debra was united in Holy Matrimony to Jock Walker, Sr., and from this union came her two beloved children, Jock Walker, Jr. and Trinice Walker. Debra's work ethic was unmatched. In her early years, she worked at USF&G and Young's Cleaners. She went on to dedicate 24 years of service to CGI, where she worked from 2001 until her passing in 2025. To her family and friends, she was a loving mother, amazing grandmother, and the favorite aunt everyone clung to. She was affectionately known as "Photo Deb" and "Kodak Deb" because she never missed a chance to capture a moment. With her camera in hand and a smile on her face, she made sure memories were preserved. Her family was her joy and peace. Debra was also the life of the party. When she walked in, the celebration truly began. With a Long Island in hand and one leg kicked out, she would joyously exclaim, "Sangg that mother father...!". She loved her jazz and loved to dance, with favorites including Boney James, Brian Culbertson, Rick Braun, and Grover Washington. Traveling with her siblings and nieces to jazz concerts or Las Vegas was one of her greatest pleasures. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children: Jock Walker, Jr. (Ashley) and Trinice Walker (Nolan Sr.) ; seven grandchildren: Gerard Turner, Hailin Walker, Rah'Yanna Clements, Ra'Myri Sterling, Nolan Lawson, Jr., Noah Lawson, and Jock Walker, III ; one great-grandchild: Gerard Turner, Jr. ; six sisters: Lucille P. Allen (Dwayne), Mary Ann West (Percy), Loretta Baker, Bernadette Gaines, Veronica P. Mitchell, and Gilda P. Sanders ; four brothers: Wallace T. Patterson, Jr., Wayne E. Patterson (Lisa), Joseph Gaines, and Douglas Gaines, Sr. (Addie) ; godchildren ; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace T. and Lilly F. Patterson; her siblings, Diane P. Harris, John E. Lemay, and Patricia Thomas; and her nephew, Jamal Baker. Debra's radiant spirit, boundless love for her family, and ability to light up any room will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She taught us the importance of laughter, the value of family, and the joy of living life to the fullest. Though her voice and presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, joy, and unforgettable memories will live on in every story shared, every song played, and every photo taken. Rest well, Debra - our "Photo Deb," our dancing queen, our forever light. Funeral can be live streamed @ www.facebook.com/D.W.RhodesFuneralHome/live
