Debra Weeks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McAlpin Funeral Home - Sneads on Aug. 21, 2023.
Debra Renee Weeks, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023, in Sneads, Florida. Born on October 17, 1959, in Huntington, Indiana to the late Mark Sebastion Bear and Betty Lou Reddington Bear. Debra was known for her love of family, pets, and her exceptional culinary skills.
Debra was the cherished wife of the late Amos Maxwell Weeks, who predeceased her in 2011. She was the loving mother of Deidre Renee Weeks (Joseph), and Darla Kirkland (Jeremy), both of Sneads, Florida. Debra was also the proud grandmother of Samantha Kirkland, Dylan Kirkland, Calli Kirkland, and Aubrey Renew, and the doting great-grandmother of Violet Grace Kirkland. She is survived by her brothers, Tyler Bear and his wife Kim of Indiana, and Timothy Bear, along with numerous extended family members.
Debra spent her life as a dedicated homemaker and talented seamstress. She worked tirelessly on the family farm, caring for goats and rabbits with a gentle and loving hand. Her pets, Coco and Daisy May, were constant companions and brought her immense joy.
Debra's love for her family was evident in her passion for cooking and hosting family gatherings. Her pecan pie, peanut brittle, and divinity candy were legendary, especially during the Christmas season. These traditions will be carried on by her family, a testament to her enduring love and legacy.
Debra's life was a living example of devotion to family and friends. Her warm heart, caring nature, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
A Celebration of Debra's Life will be held in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time with Rev. Steven Subel officiating. Burial will follow in the Weeks Family Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home.
