Debra Breaux Wilks

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 1:30 pm at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA for Debra Breaux Wilks, 70, who passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Florida.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service.

A Rosary will be recited in Debra's name immediately followed by a Eulogy on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA.

Readers for the service are Danielle Armelin and Geneva Breaux Girard. Wendy Breaux, Addyson Ingram and Carly Ingram will serve as Gift Bearers.

Father Joe Campion, of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA, will officiate.

Inurnment will follow at a later date in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA.

Debra Breaux Wilks, was born September 5, 1955, in Gueydan, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She graduated from Gueydan High School in Gueydan, Class of 1973. After high school, Debra attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, LA.

Debra was a devoted homemaker during her children's early years and was a mother to many. She was active in her community taking on PTO duties at her children's schools and teaching catechism for many years. Debra had the gift of a green thumb and could regularly be found tending to her plants in her garden. She was a parishioner of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA.

Debra most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The role she most relished was that of 'Mimi' to her 4 grandchildren. She was never happier than when she was supporting her family. Debra leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.

Debra is survived by her significant other, Mike McGuirk, of Scott, LA; her daughter, Jessica Ann Wilks and her husband, Jerry Ingram, of Lafayette, LA; her son, Kenneth 'Chris' Christopher Wilks and his wife, Brenna Wilks, of Boston, MA; her two brothers, Larry Breaux, Sr., and his wife, Sylvia Aldana, of Lake Arthur, LA and Richard Breaux, Jr., and his wife, Marilyn, of Lake Charles, LA; her sister, Judy Comeaux, and her significant other, Dale Parish, of Orange, TX; her sister-in-law, Rita Breaux, of Metairie, LA; her four grandchildren, Addyson Ingram, Carly Ingram, Cole Ingram and Kaia Wilks and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth 'Kenny' Carl Wilks; her father, Richard Joseph Breaux, Sr.; her mother, Bernice Marie Breaux Suire and her husband, Elton; her two brothers, Wayne Breaux and Ronald Breaux and her brother-in-law, Gavin Comeaux.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Larry Breaux, Jr., Todd Comeaux, Cole Ingram, Jerry Ingram, Scott Dauterive and Michael LeBlanc.
