Dee Clinton “D.C.” Uzzell, 82, a lifelong resident of Columbia, died Monday, September 22, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Alan Hughes officiating and military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
He was born on May 24, 1943 to the late Joe Davidson Uzzell and the late Mary Katherine Emerson Uzzell. D.C. graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1961, served in the United States Army stationed in Korea and retired from Columbia Power and Water Systems after 30 years as the Chief Filter Plant Operator. He enjoyed farming, auto repair and restoration.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sandra Fay Duncan Uzzell of Columbia; son Michael Clinton Uzzell of Columbia; daughter, Angela Fay (Matthieu) Mollet of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Jimmy (Marie) Uzzell of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Roger Davidson Mollet and Julia Ann Mollet; and a niece, Sonja (Ricky) Uzzell Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Parks, Daryl Thrasher, Steve Lynn, Jason Kelley, Richard Pilkinton, and David Craig. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Caris Healthcare and NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care.
