Dehart H. "Junie" Lamb Jr.

Dehart "Junie" H. Lamb, Jr., 69, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Snow Hill, MD. Born on September 26, in Manhattan, NY; he was the son of the late Dal R. Nichols and Geraldine Collins Nichols.
Dehart was a proud Veteran, eagerly serving his country in the Army. Following his service, he led an extraordinary career at Adult Correctional Institute (ACI) in Cranston, RI. He later relocated to the Eastern Shore, earning respect as a correctional officer at the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI) in Maryland where he worked for fourteen years prior to retiring.
A talented athlete, Dehart excelled in baseball and track at Central High School in Providence, RI, and even competed as a welter weight boxer, participating in the Golden Gloves in New England, where he showcased his strength and athleticism. In his later years, he enjoyed going to baseball games and especially showing support on the sidelines at West Virginia University in football with his best friend, Bill Widdows. DeHart was also a passionate animal lover, rescuing cats Harry, Vera, Chelsea, and Amber, and showing unwavering compassion for those in need. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from savoring nightly almond butter ice cream to cheering on Mountaineers football games.
Left to cherish Junie's memory are his siblings, Timothy Nichols, Patricia A. Browne (William), Michael E. Nichols, and Waymond D. Nichols, daughter, Dawn Berry, three grand children, Zamani, Osiris and Isabelle, his niece Vinika Nichols, aunt Vickie, cousin Mary Keys, and his best friend, for over 35 years, William "Bill" Widdows, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dal G. Nichols.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2pm at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate the service. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Parson's Cemetery.
