Port Allegany - Delaney D. Sherwood, 83, of Eldred, passed away on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) at his home.

He was born October 19, 1941, in Port Allegany, a son of Joseph O. and Ruby (Haynes) Sherwood. On May 29, 1993, in Newell Creek, Eldred, he married Catherine J. Beach, who died June 8, 2024.

He was a graduate of Eldred High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Pierce Glass of Port Allegany.

He is survived by two daughters: Melissa (Dave) White of Pittsburgh and Cindy D. (Sam) Mixter of Smethport

three grandchildren; Todd (Deb) Bigley, Ethan Weatherby and Kylie Bigley and six great grandchildren; Delaney, Daton, Dawson, Becca, Cole, and John

two brothers: John "Buck" (Iva) Sherwood in Ohio and Garry (Deb) Sherwood of Eldred

two sisters: Alice (John) Chesebro of Smethport and Ann (Kevin) Kinnaird of Great Valley, NY

and several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandchild, two brothers; Robert and Larry, and one sister; Amber.

In keeping with Delaney's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Veteran's Memorial Home of Port Allegany, PA. Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Port Allegany.
