Janet L. Sherwood, 75, of West Mansfield, passed away Monday afternoon, September 1, 2025, at her home.
Janet was born at home in Logan County on May 31, 1950, to the late Janet (McCubbin) Griffin and Roy Griffin. She was also preceded in death by sisters Laura Jean Griffin and Lois Hall, and brothers James Griffin and Lee Griffin.
Janet is survived by her husband Thomas Sherwood, whom she married on November 23, 1968. She is also survived by a daughter Laura (Patrick) Furness; a son David (Amy) Sherwood; four grandchildren: Brook Sherwood, Whitney Sherwood, Hannah Furness, and Andrew Furness; and three sisters: Betty Oates, Linda Kerns, and Judy Painter.
Janet worked for 30+ years at the Logan County Auditor’s Office, before retiring in 2015. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul Society and Mercy Meals. Janet also enjoyed reading and taking care of her 3 horses.
Fr. Shawn Landenwitch will officiate Janet’s graveside service at 10am on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, in care of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 321 E. Patterson Ave. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
