Delbert J. Landfried, age 86 of Hempfield Twp, Greenville, passed away following a brief illness on the evening of December 10, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1938 in Greenville, Pa to Phillip and Sarah( Zuschlag) Landfried. Del attended Big Run School in West Salem until High school, graduating from Pymatuning Joint High School Jamestown, Pa in 1955.
He worked for the United States Postal Sevice and worked in construction until he became a state patrolman and worked for the Pymatuning State Park as Chief Park Ranger. Del was also a member of the dive team, taught classes for the PR24, the proper usage of the Side Handle Baton at Greenville, Crawford and Mercer county police stations. He was a FBI Firearms instructor for 10 years. He retired from the Park Ranger Force in 1999. He was an avid golfer and played horseshoes in his spare time. Del was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church.
He married Nancy Hoffacker on July 12, 1999. She survives. Delbert is survived by one brother, Donald Landfried, and one sister, Elaine ( Ron) Hanlon and Four Children, Dr. Matthew ( Kerry) Landfried, Lee Ann (Mark ) Micsky, Kathy ( Brick) Stewart, and David (Cathy) Landfried, and a step-daughter Jaime (Bill) Kidd. Delbert had 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
Delbert is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Landfried, his parents, and one brother Theodore Landfried.
A private memorial for family and friends will be held on January 4, 2025. Memorial Contributions can be made in Delbert's memory to Jerusalem Christian Church 160 Donation Road, Greenville.
