Harriett Delene Drew Kinchen Taylor, 78, passed away on July 9, 2025 in Macon, Georgia. Delene was born on October 22, 1946 in Dublin, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Sean Kinchen, mother, Willie Mae Brantley Drew Smith Brown, father, Harry Alton Drew, step-father, Thomas Thornton Brown, maternal grandparents, William Columbus Brantley and Mozelle Cooper Brantley and paternal grandparents, James Horace Drew and Saffie Fortner Drew.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Daniel Taylor, sister, Tommie Brown Powell, brothers, James A. Drew and William Gary Smith, nephews, Erik and Derek Powell, nieces, Allison Drew, Collin Drew, Merritt Smith, Autumn Smith and Ana Smith Veillette, brother in law, Dale Powell, step-daughter, Mallie (Shane) Taylor Ellison, step-sons, Jason (Carrie) Kinchen and Clifford (Lachelle) Danny Taylor, and 5 step-grandchildren.

Delene was a member of the Wrightsville High School Class of 1964 and was voted Wittiest in the Senior Superlatives by her classmates. She played clarinet in the school band and sang alto in the Girl's Trio. Delene was the 1966 Johnson County Forestry Queen. She was a graduate of South Georgia College, where she sang in the Glee Club. Delene also attended Georgia Southern and Georgia College and held a Masters Degree in Addiction Counseling.

Delene was a legend in the Field of Addiction Counseling in the Milledgeville and Middle Georgia Area. Through her intervention, she was instrumental in the recovery of countless patients suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. She began her work in this Field in 1977 with the State of Georgia and held numerous positions including Director of Day Treatment Services, Certified AIDS Counselor, Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, Certified Mental Health Professional, Certified Peer Specialist and Certified Psychosocial Rehab Practioner. She was also a facilitator of several 12 Step Support Groups including AA, Al-Anon, NA, Nar-Anon and AlaTeen.

No service or visitation will be held in accordance with Delene's wishes.
