November 23, 1960– September 29, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce that Delia (Dee Dee) Karacius, aged 65, has gone to meet her Lord and Savior after a short but brave battle with cancer. Dee passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on September 29, 2025. Born on November 23rd,1960 in Worcester, MA to Francis and Ruth Harmon, Dee was raised in Sutton, MA where many knew and loved her.
She was a beloved partner, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was known for her infectious laugh, willingness to drop everything for a friend in need, love of nature, and creativity. A true country girl at heart, Dee was very much at home in the barn from a young age, passionate about her horses and spending time with them out on picturesque trails. Her family camp in Washington, NH was an idyllic spot where she enjoyed unwinding, cooking amazing meals from scratch, fixing up the property, and making lifelong memories. She also adored spending time at the ocean, especially at sunrise, exploring and collecting treasures that she would find along the shoreline. Dee was a talented artist, taking her inspiration from the nature she loved and transforming it into one-of-a-kind pieces that she sold and gifted to friends and loved ones.
Dee’s loveable and generous spirit was evident in the way she served her community. For many years, she proudly worked alongside her husband, David Karacius, in managing the Dudley Gendron Post 414. She poured her heart into this through catering events, working on scholarship funding for local students, supporting veterans' causes, and working on benevolent funds for the less fortunate. In many ways, Dee was the welcoming and friendly face people looked forward to seeing at “The Dud.” Always a shoulder to cry on and the first to laugh at a joke, Dee brought a beautiful energy there that all who knew her will miss dearly.
Most important to Dee was her Christian faith which was close to her heart. She never missed a Sunday morning, virtually attending Messiah Christian Church in Wells, Maine where her
step-daughter, step-son-in-law, and grandchildren attended and led worship. Dee loved the Lord and that love flowed out to everyone around her.
Dee is survived by her loving partner Gordan “Skip” Arcouette, sisters Lois Land and Ruthie Lorusso, nephews: Jonathan, Caleb, Malachi, and Ezra Land. She also leaves nieces Julie Junokas and Andrea Arter, two grand nieces, and one grand nephew. Her step-children Tracey Converse, David Karacius, Reagan and Timothy Burrows, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Dee was predeceased by her loving husband, David Karacius, her sister Donna Harmon, brother Gene Harmon, and parents Francis and Ruth Harmon.
Delia lived her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith in Jesus, friendship, and laughter.
Dee’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road, Sutton.
Immediately following the funeral service a celebration of life will be held at the Dudley-Gendron Legion Post, 156 Boston Road, Sutton.
