Delilah R. Baker, age 91, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at 11:27 am on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 10, 1934, the daughter of Arthur & Ella Belle (Mills) Gillaspy.
She was a graduate of St. John Academy in Indianapolis and after high school she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. She enjoyed going on historical tours and learning historical facts especially about Indiana. She was a social butterfly who loved being around people and spending time with her loving family.
Delilah is survived by her loving sons, Lawrence (Carol) Baker, Gerald (Sherri) Baker, Daniel (Wendy) Baker and Anthony Baker; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward G. Baker and siblings, Helen Pope, Edward Gillaspy and Joseph Gillaspy.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington of Walton Funeral Service on Friday, December 26, 2025, with Father Srinivasa Malaka officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
