O B I T U A R Y

Delilah Jean Phelps Estes of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Earl Maurice Phelps and Virginia Mae McIntyre Phelps was born on Saturday, October 15, 1955 in Hartford, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 69 years, 11 months, and 19 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended their family church in Exie. She worked for the Green County School System as a bus driver and in the cafeteria for over 27 years.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Dennis Wade Estes of Green County, having united in marriage on October 23, 1969.

Other survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Donna Jean Despain and Darrell, Janie and Roger Goldsmith, Angie and Chad Patterson, Denise and Victor Rose all of Green County; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; a half-sister: Lukendra Lockhart of Missouri; her fur baby: Buddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Joe Phelps and Steven Earl Phelps; one sister: Joreena Henderson.

The funeral services for Delilah Jean Phelps Estes will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Warf Cemetery. Bro. Adam Pruitt and Bro. James Kelly officiating.

Visitation is requested from 3 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Saturday at the funeral home and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Sunday until time of the funeral service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Taylor Regional Hospital Cancer Center or the Gideon Bible Fund which can both be made at the funeral home.
