Delilah "Lilah" Jane Steenberg, age 12 of Cottage Grove.
Lilah brought immense joy to the world from the moment she entered it on September 13, 2012. Sadly, she left us far too soon on March 8, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
The daughter of Doug and Allison, Lilah was a beloved little sister to Cecelia and a caring, playful big sister to Beau. She was adored by her grandparents; Doug and Jane, Laura, and John (Susan). Lilah was also deeply loved by her aunts and uncles; Felicia (Jon), Dylan (Niki), and Lucy (Drake), as well as her cousins; Ella, Levon, Lucinda, Tia, June, and Maxine, who will always remember her as a kind, funny, and endlessly talented soul.
Lilah was an extraordinary young person, a trusted friend to many, gifted with a quick wit and a vibrant personality. Her passions were as wide-ranging as her talents; she had a love for music, singing, and playing the guitar. She was a natural on stage and an all-around amazing artist.
Lilah was a deeply empathetic soul, and she showed kindness to every creature she encountered. She had a deep love for all animals, including her dogs, cats, and cherished pet snake. Her kindness, creativity, and love knew no bounds and her light will never fade from the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held on April 13, 2025, from 1 PM to 5 PM, with a service from 2:00-3:00 PM, at The Madison in Cottage Grove, where family and friends will gather to share memories, music, and love. In honor of Delilah's colorful personality, guests are encouraged to wear whatever makes them comfortable-this will be a celebration of her life, her light, and the love she gave so freely, not a somber occasion.
In lieu of traditional flowers, the family kindly asks for perennials that will be placed in a memorial garden at the family home, where they can feel your continued support and Lilah's beautiful spirit can forever bloom.
"I never hated anyone....I always had one spot in my heart for everyone. When I die look for me in MUSIC I'll be there. - Delilah Steenberg-
