DELILAH WILLIAMS - Delilah McCorkle Williams, age 81, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 19, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Shelton officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Williams was born October 14, 1944, in Columbus, MS, to the late Robert and Mabel Burns McCorkle. She was a 1962 graduate of S. D. Lee High School and attended Mississippi University for Women. She worked for Mitchell Engineering, was an Avon District Manager, then retired from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department. Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Independent Methodist Church and was a 54 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Women's Sorority where she was the recipient of the Ultimate Honor International Award of Distinction.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James W. "Jim" "Jimmy" Williams of Columbus, MS, son, Tracy Pack of Columbus, MS, and grandchildren, Benjamin Pack of Columbus, MS, and Hannah Beth Pack of Columbus, MS.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS, 39702.
