In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Bobby Lee King and Ernest King, Jr. as well as a sister: Lucille Taylor.
She enjoyed writing poems and doing puzzles. At other times she also enjoyed knitting and cooking. One of her favorite past times was traveling with her husband. She was a member of Dundarrach Baptist Church. Often times in church she would perform different recitations.
"Dale" as she was known by many is survived by her beloved and wonderful husband of 30 years: Gary Locklear of the home; a stepdaughter: Lashawna Locklear of Shannon; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.
At an early age, Dale grew up in Clinton, MO where she attended Jefferson Park Grade School and later graduated from Clinton High School in 1960. In 1968 she moved to North Carolina and worked several different jobs. One of her favorite jobs that she held was when she was able to take care of elderly people.
Sister Dale was a people person who did not meet a stranger. She could become friends with just about anyone. Dale took her gift of talking from her dad.
