It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Faye Durden Lockamy of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Faye, a devoted wife, loving mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother and extraordinary woman, departed this world peacefully, surrounded by her family Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 77.
Faye's nurturing spirit, unwavering support and boundless love will forever be etched in the hearts of her children and all she touched. Faye was a brilliant and compassionate woman. Faye's passion, dedication and love extended far beyond her family. Faye had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome; friends, neighbors and even strangers -she treated them all like family. Her generosity was limitless, and her kindness impacted countless lives. Faye will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Faye was born in St Pauls, North Carolina to the late Howard Boyd Durden and the late Annie Bell Ivey Durden on August 15, 1948. Faye married her husband, James Lee Lockamy, in 1966. Together, they built a loving and lasting bond of more than 39 years until his passing in 2006. Faye was also preceded in death by her sister, Penny Reneau.
Faye leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Kenneth Lockamy and wife Jamie, Christopher Lockamy and wife Jennifer, grand-daughter Cora Vick and husband Adam, grand-son James Lockamy, great-grand-daughter Maislyn Faye Vick, three sisters, Betty Hunt, Minnie Hamilton and Angie Darden and a large devoted family, including many cherished nephews and nieces, along with other extended family, close relatives and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Faye Durden Lockamy's life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00pm at Boles Funeral Home in St Pauls, North Carolina. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in St Pauls.
Visitation will precede the memorial service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Boles Funeral Home in St Pauls.
The family is in the care of Boles Saint Pauls Funeral Home.
