Della Marie Pliler

Della Marie Pliler, née Hamilton, passed away at the age of 73 in the early hours of January 18, 2025, in Beech Grove, Indiana, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 27, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Crawford and Barbara (Trent) Hamilton.
Della, known as Cissy by her family and Cactus Rose by her husband, worked over 20 years for the Indianapolis Police Department before retiring in 2016.
Della married her partner-in-crime Terry L. Pliler in 1970, and they shared 54 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Pliler; two sons, Russell and Daniel Pliler (Ann); and two daughters, Susan (Derrick) Davis and Barbara (Toney) Pliler. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters who were her best friends, and six brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons; three brothers: Billy, Tommy, and Mike; her sister, Mary Jo; and her granddaughter, Olivia.
Della was a generous woman who loved her family and friends deeply, and was protective of those dear to her. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and enjoyed spending any chance she could with them. She was greatly loved by her family and her absence is deeply felt by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22 from 3pm to 6pm, followed by a short eulogy, at Oakley Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN.
