Della Wayment Obituary

Della Wayment

In Loving Memory

September 19, 1944 ~ June 10, 2025

We gather to celebrate the life of Della Wheeler Wayment, born on September 19, 1944, in Ogden, Utah-a woman whose life was defined by compassion, love, courage, and unwavering thoughtfulness.

Della was a true survivor. She met life's challenges head-on, including conquering breast cancer-twice. Her strength and resilience were a guiding light to everyone around her, and her deep love for her family remained the foundation of her life, no matter the circumstances.

Raised in Taylor, Utah, Della graduated from Weber High School in 1962. She married David Wayment in 1962 and later divorced, forging her own path with grace and determination. In a field traditionally dominated by men, Della carved out a reputation as the best parts person in the motorcycle industry-a testament to her knowledge, diligence, and relentless work ethic.

Della's professional dedication was matched only by her devotion to her family. She was immensely proud of her five daughters, often boasting "Five Girls, and No Boys". She treasured every moment spent with them. She found joy in the simple pleasures; reading, watching crime shows, Hallmark movies, and, of course, chocolate. Her beloved collection of Lillliput Lane houses reflected both her meticulous nature and her appreciation for beauty in the small things.

Her faith played a central role in her life. As a compassionate service coordinator for many years, she lived out the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with grace and empathy.

Della is survived by her daughters: Pat (Jeff) Deru; Cindy (Mike) Bradshaw; Kathy (Dave) Williams; Vickie (Adrian) Cantu; 17 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren. Brothers, Jim and Phil Wheeler, and Sister Carol Bennett.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Marie Wayment Dotson; her parents, James Melvin Wheeler and Cynthia Heslop Wheeler; and two brothers, Brian and Lynn Wheeler.

As we remember Della, we honor a life lived with courage, kindness, and deep love. Her enduring spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

We invite you to share your memories of Della and upload photos to her memorial page in celebration of her life. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting reminder of the remarkable woman Della was, and how she touched our lives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the West Weber Cemetery.
