Delmar Melvin Schilling, 89, of Wishek, ND, died August 20, 2025, at his home. Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Feist Funeral Home, Wishek. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will take place at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek. A livestream of Delmar's funeral service will be available on the St. Luke Wishek YouTube page.

Delmar was born January 21, 1936, to George and Lydia (Fetzer) Schilling on the family farm 15 miles southwest of Wishek. He attended rural school and completed his eighth-grade education.

Delmar married Della Mae Sayler on November 27, 1959. They farmed on the Schilling family farm until moving into Wishek in 1999. Delmar continued farming until 2009, when he retired.

Delmar was a kind hardworking man; his biggest joy was combining, when he could sit beside his son Dwight and watch the grain come in and visit. Delmar enjoyed having coffee with his buddies, old-time accordion music and listening to Lawrence Welk and Molly Bie. Delmar was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa, he loved his family and they brought such joy to his life.

Delmar is survived by his loving wife Della Schilling, Wishek; one son Dwight (Cheryl) Schilling, Wishek; three grandchildren, Brandon Schilling, Wishek, Nichole (Jesse) Jangula, Edgely, and Jace (Baily) Schilling, Wishek; 10 great grandchildren, Taylor, Braxdon and Kyson Schilling, Jocelyn, Jax, Jaklyn, Jacinta and Jude Jangula and Paislee and Jayda Schilling; brother, Harvey Schilling, Bismarck; step sister, Phyllis Barkowskie, Chicago; sisters-in-law, Vangie Ketterling, Wishek and Linda Mosset, Wishek, brother-in-law Jim (Crystal) Sayler, Pollock and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lydia Schilling; father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Lydia Sayler; brother, Marvin Schilling; sisters-in-law, Murial Schilling, Diane Schilling, Blanche Nagel and Norma Peterson; brothers-in-law, Andy Mosset, Walter Ketterling, Jim Nagel and Barry Peterson.
