Delois Neal, age 86, beloved wife of Joe Neal, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Friday, December 30, 1938, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Charlie Brewer and the late Molly Centers Brewer. Dee grew up in Stanton and graduated from Powell County High School in 1958. After getting married, she lived a short time in Norfolk, Virginia, while her husband, Joe, served in the Navy. Dee was a loving homemaker, wife, and mother. She was active in church and enjoyed serving others. Dee loved helping with youth programs; for two years, she served as the youth director at Clay City First Church of God. She always had a kind and quiet disposition and a loving smile (except when UK basketball was playing). Dee enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was always looking for new recipes to try. You would often find her humming her favorite hymns while cooking. Dee loved animals, the family would say there wasn't a stray she wouldn't feed, domestic or "wild". Later, while living in Charlotte, she worked as a Pharmacy Tech at a drugstore there. One of Dee's greatest joys was spending time with her family and traveling to different places. In addition to her parents, Dee is preceded in death by four brothers: John B. Brewer, Marion Brewer, Louie Brewer, and Larry Brewer; and her sister-in-law, Fern Brewer. In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by her sister, Pearl Lee; her son, Charles Gregory (Donna) Neal; her daughter, Pamela Jo (Dr. Joseph Myslinski) Harrison; two granddaughters, Sarah Katherine Neal and Dr. Paige Alexa Harrison; two step-granddaughters, Ellie (Dennis) Siudut and Dr. Rachel Myslinski (Jake) Smith; and one step-great-grandson, Jacob Joseph Smith. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. James Harold Combs will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M., immediately following the visitation. Burial will be held at Stonegate Cemetery in Stanton, with Caleb Everman, Darin Lee, David Johnson, Shannon Brewer, Dr. Tristan Rodriguez, and Dr. Joseph Myslinski serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Josh and Crystal Perry, Darlene Gibbs, and the staff of Brooks Place. The family extends special thanks to VIA Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice East and the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
