Delores Ann Bethune, lovingly known as Ann, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at UNC Johnston in Smithfield, leaving a legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Born on June 7, 1947, in Harnett County, NC, Ann was a beacon of joy, nurturing her strong connections with family and friends throughout her life.
Ann was the cherished daughter of Emery Tart and Annie Lee Bradshaw Tart, who preceded her in death. She embodied a spirit of love that enveloped everyone around her. Her personality was a rare gift; she brought warmth and laughter into the lives of her loved ones, creating a nurturing environment steeped in affection.
She is survived by her beloved son, Dennis Earl Bethune, alongside her treasured grandsons, Josh Bethune and Anthony Parker, who filled her life with pride and happiness. The joy of Ann’s life radiated even further through her great-grandchildren, Mason Douglas Parker, Bryce Bethune, Harper Bethune, and Liam Parker, who represented the continuation of her loving spirit.
Ann’s bond with her siblings was also a vital part of her life. She leaves behind her sister, Betty Parker, and brothers, Robert Tart and Raydon Tart, each of whom carries fond memories of her love and laughter. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her unwavering devotion to them highlighted the depth of her caring personality.
While we mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman, we also celebrate the love she fostered and the countless beautiful moments she shared with those she adored. Ann will be remembered for her selflessness and dedication to her family and friends.
A memorial service to honor Delores Ann Bethune will be held at a later date, providing an opportunity for all whose lives she touched to gather and reminisce, cherishing the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Indeed, she loved a lot in her time, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in all of us.
