Delores Levonia Wood Bonnette, 86, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, September 22, 2025. Delores was born in Fairview Alpha, Louisiana on January 30, 1939 to Ocie and Gladys Wood. She lost her mom at the young age of just twelve years old and helped raise all eleven of her siblings. She learned early how to cook a pan of biscuits and was well known for that. She married Jessie Bonnette in 1955 and the couple moved to Longview, Texas, later building a loving home for themselves and their large family in Ore City, Texas.

Delores was known to most of the people in her life as "Nanny". And she truly was a Nanny to all. Everyone was welcome at Nanny and Papaw's house, blood related or not. Nanny was a Godly woman who worshipped the Lord and followed His teachings through and through. She loved her family and those who surrounded her grew close enough over the years to feel like family themselves.

Nanny was strong, patient, kind, welcoming and above all, a woman of faith and conviction. She opened her home and gave to anyone in need. Her quiet strength and genuine love continually drew friends and family back "home" again. Delores was always there, always faithful, and always ready to listen.

"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it" Hebrews 13:2

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ola, Nancy, Joy and Gloria, brothers: Bill, Lloyd, Doug and Allen, and grandsons: Robert, Jared, Hunter, Fisher and Cason. She is survived by her husband, Jessie Bonnette, and her five children: Tony Lynn Bonnette and Becky Winn, Linda Gail Bonnette, Mark Duwayne Bonnette and wife Angela Bonnette, Laurie Maldonado and husband Cande Maldonado, and Joel Bonnette and wife Sara Bonnette. She is also survived by dozens and dozens of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. She will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Burial will follow at Ore City Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
