With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry H. Bonnette Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
He was a proud Myrtle Beach native and lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where he served on numerous committees.
He retired from the Horry County School District, where he served as a teacher, district staff member, and school administrator.
In earlier years, Henry volunteered with the Myrtle Beach and Conway Recreation Departments and served as a Booster Club President at Carolina Forest High School. He loved sports and had a lifelong interest in car racing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frankie Bonnette; his son, Hank Bonnette, and daughter-in-law Sherry Bonnette; and his cherished granddaughters, Paulina and Ailynn, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also lovingly remembered by several cousins, in-laws, and dear friends.
We take comfort in knowing that Henry now rests in the presence of the Lord. As Scripture reminds us:
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
- 2 Corinthians 5:8

I fondly recall Mr. Bonnette. He may have been my Sunday school teacher in the 50s. He was a friend of my Dad's, James Howell. Condolences to those he loved and loved him.
