Delores was born on April 13, 1944 in Rebecca, Georgia to the late James Ralph and Dorothy Elaine Gordon Paulk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only and beloved daughter, Jennifer Lea Evans, and sister, Phyllis Elaine Dixon.
Delores was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School Class of 1962, then the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and was a member of the Signa Kappa Sorority. Upon graduation, she pursued a career in Information Technology and was employed by The Southern Company for over 30 years.
Delores was baptized into the Baptist faith at the early age of eleven and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn. In her free time, Delores enjoyed photography, traveling, and all things technology. She was an avid sports fan and could always be found cheering on her favorite college football team; the Georgia Bulldogs. In the spring, the Masters was her focus.
Delores is survived by her brother, Jim Paulk (Jackie) of Cordele, Georgia; nephews and nieces, Trey (Stacey) Clark of McDonough, Georgia, Austin Clark, of Washington, DC, Addison Clark, of Milledgeville, Georgia, April (Brian) Gregory of Savannah, Georgia, Justin (Morgan) Paulk of Cordele, Georgia, and Emma, Beck, and Huck Paulk of Cordele, Georgia; ex husband Al Evans of Tucker, Georgia, and special friend, Nancy Hall of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
A visitation is planned on Friday, January 19th from 1pm-3pm at Bill Head Funeral Home, 6101 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Georgia 30084. The burial will be on Saturday, January 20 at noon at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, Delores would be honored for you to donate to the Jennifer Lea Evans Memorial Fund c/o Alumni and Development Records, Emory University Plaza 1000, 1762 Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30322.

We have so many wonderful memories of times in the band and traveling to Mardi Gras and Daytona to play. She was my big sister in our high school sorority and was the smartest lady I knew.
