Delores Skweres Kendziora, age 86 of Beasley, Texas passed away Wednesday March 12.
Delores was born on July 24, 1938, to Wallace and Annie Stegent Skweres of Brenham, Texas. She was raised in Brenham, Texas where she helped on the family farm. Her heart was always out in the field with her dad but her mom would insist that she help cook meals in the kitchen before she would let her go.
Delores met the love of her life Steve Kendziora of Richmond, Texas. They married on February 11, 1956, moved to Rosenberg, Texas and began their life together. They were blessed with 3 children, their daughter Sally (Kendziora) Chupik and two sons Kennith Kendziora and Larry Kendziora. In 1961 Steve and Delores were able to buy a farm in Beasley, Texas. She was very proud of the home they had built and how her family worked hard together on the farm.
Delores worked many years at LCISD where she became a cafeteria manager. She enjoyed the ladies she worked with and would often share stories about the fun they would have together, singing, laughing and occasionally dancing. These ladies became Delores lifelong friends. She retired from LCISD in 1997 as the Cafeteria Manager of Terry High School.
After retiring from LCISD Delores spent many weekends attending dances with her lady friends and that is where she met her friend and partner Fred Bludau. Together, they played many games of dominoes, traveled on the bus to Coushatta, LA. and of course, continued going to dances. During her retirement she also cherished and enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She was always there to lend a helping hand for all her children including babysitting her grandchildren, which she especially enjoyed.
Delores was a longtime member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley, Texas. She enjoyed cleaning and taking care of the church and CCD building weekly, it was her church, she worked hard to help build the church and she was very proud of that and of her church family who worked alongside of her. Delores' faith was strong and unwavering an inspiration to all and a gift she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Delores' greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter Sally Chupik and her husband Kenneth, her two sons Kennith Kendziora and his wife Cindy and Larry Kendziora and his wife Julie; grandchildren Ryan Chupik (Michelle), Jennifer Brummer (Jeff), Paige Shaw (Kody), Timmy Kendziora (Sam), Tyler Kendziora (Gracie), Sarah Vavra (Trey), Claire Wied (Kasen); and 12 great-grandchildren Joe, Joshua, Jacob, Mackenzie, Wyatt, Emma, Avery, Drake, Cambry, Braxton, Khloe and Hudson; sister Dorothy Sander and numerous nephews and nieces.
