Delores M. Montgomery, age 90, of Brooklyn, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Mayflower Community in Grinnell. Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn with Pastor Lisa Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Memorials may be directed to the staff at the Mayflower Community and the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn is assisting the family with arrangements.

Delores is survived by her sons, Scott Montgomery (Michele) of Belgium, Kelly Montgomery (Nancy) of Ames; Kyle Montgomery (Marna) of Brooklyn, and six grandchildren, Kirk (Miriam) of Virginia, Logan of Ames, Ryan (Emily) of Des Moines, Shannon (Ricardo) of Brazil, Jordan of Brooklyn, and Kali of Altoona; and four great-grandchildren, Leah Montgomery of Virginia, Victoria Viana of Brazil, Leonardo Viana of Brazil and Micah Montgomery of Virginia. Also surviving Delores is her brother Delmar (Mabel) McWilliams of Victor, sisters-in-law Joyce Hoskins of Oklahoma, Ruthie Schwiebert of Marion, Elaine Montgomery of the Chicago area; brother-in-law Robert Montgomery of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Willis Montgomery; her parents; a brother Marlan McWilliams, and a daughter-in-law Vicki Montgomery.

Delores Mae McWilliams was born November 22, 1932, the daughter of Leeman and Vivian Schrader McWilliams. She graduated from Guernsey high school. Delores was united in marriage to Willis Montgomery on February 19, 1952. She has been a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn for 70 years. Delores was also a member of the Care Review Board for Brookhaven Nursing Home. She was active, involved, hardworking and most importantly a caregiver to many. Delores was a Hawkeye fan, an excellent baker and enjoyed gardening. She will be missed by many.
