DELORIS "DIANE" BRATCHER
Deloris Diane Bratcher, 85, from Royal Palm Beach, Florida left us peacefully on November 9th, 2024, surrounded by family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Deloris or "Diane" will always be remembered for her outgoing personality, beautiful smile, sense of humor, and willingness to help others.
Diane was born on February 11, 1939 in Miami, Florida, daughter of Wendell and Theresa Hanson and later, older sister to Nancy. She graduated from Miami High School where she was a popular majorette and played the accordion. She married her loving husband, Norman Bratcher in 1959.
An avid orchid and animal lover, she owned and operated Diane's Elegant Rabbit Ranch in Royal Palm Beach. She was a founding member of the Palm Beach County Rabbiteers, a 90-member association of rabbit breeders. Diane conducted outreach programs for local schools and the Palm Beach County 4-H Youth Program for many years to educate about Rabbits and Rabbit ownership. She also organized Rabbit Exhibits at the South Florida Fair over several decades and was named an Honored Volunteer in the South Florida Fair Hall of Fame.
Diane is survived by Norman, her husband of 65 years, their three children Jack (Teresa) Bratcher; Kathryn (Dave) Santilli; and Vernon Bratcher; as well as six grandchildren – Ashley, Brendan, Robbie, Jenna, Lauren, and James, and six great-grandchildren. Diane is also survived by her sister Nancy Nesmith and niece Patty Love.
Her memory will forever be cherished by those who survive her, including her family, friends, and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and a life well-lived. Diane was a beautiful lady inside and out. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
