A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Deloris Delancey Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Bassfield, with interment following in the St. James Cemetery. Mrs. Delancey, age 83, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord late Tuesday night, July 29, 2025, at her home in Laurel. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends Friday morning, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Mrs. Delancey will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers, including Dustin Delancey, Braden Delancey, Brian Johnson, Rusty Gregory, Joseph Sellers, and Shane Sellers.

Deloris Delancey was born on August 14, 1941, in Collins, Mississippi to Luther and Willie Lee Hutchinson Johnson.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Laurel for 50 years, and was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family. She looked forward to Sunday dinners with family and was known for her southern cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Denzle Ray Delancey; parents, Luther and Willie Lee Johnson.
twin infant daughters, Terri and Sherri; brothers, Boyse Johnson, Johnny (Dunky) Johnson, Basil Johnson, and Tony Johnson; and her granddaughter, Kayla Harper.

She is survived by her children, Theresa Gregory (Rusty), Elaine Haven (Jeff), David Delancey (Cyndie), Annette Johnson Hall (Johnny), Tammy Parker (Curtis), Tianda Steed (Marty). She is also survived by her sisters, JoAnn Graves and Janice Burns; brother, Larry Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
