Jean E Delancey

With great sadness we announce that Jean Delancey passed away in her home on December 1st 2025, surrounded by family. Jean was born in Altoona, PA on November 7th 1936 to Fred and Irene Schumacher. Jean grew up in Altoona and graduated from Altoona high school in 1954. As a teenager, She worked as a car hop where she met Herman, her husband of nearly 69 years. Jean also worked as a nurse's Aid caring for seniors in Cranford NJ for many years. She was a true caregiver to many. Her family, her friends, her neighbors and her church brought her great happiness. She volunteered much of her time over the years to The Green Village Methodist Church. Jean also loved her chipmunks, birds and squirrels that she insisted on feeding on her deck daily. She even made sure that they were fed while she battled her illness.
Jean is survived by her husband Herman, son Mark (Shane), Jeff (Dori), daughter Cheryl (Rich), and son Michael (Andrea). Jean is also survived by her sisters Mary Kay and Susan and brother David, seven grandchildren (Alex, Ryan, Michael, Sara, Jonathan, Thomas and Koi) and one great grandson (Carson). Jean was predeceased by her brothers James, William, Robert, Ronald and sister Freda. Jean was loved by so many people of all ages. Her smile, warm heart and amazing kindness will always be remembered in our hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 120 Dover Chester Rd. Randolph, NJ. Visiting hours, Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham, NJ.
