Frances F. Perkalis

A devoted mother and beloved matriarch Frances Fay Casalino Perkalis passed peacefully into the Lord's embrace on November 22, 2025, at the age of 92 surrounded by her loved ones. Frances was the heart of her family, a guiding light whose faith and love shaped generations. Born in East Orange, New Jersey, to Peter and Elizabeth, Frances was the seventh of eight children. Her father, an iceman by trade, and mother were immigrants from Bari, Italy. They instilled in her the values of hard work, humility, and service that guided her throughout her life. She now reunites in heaven with her brothers Joe, Frank, and Nick, and her sisters Lillian, Rose, Mary, and Dorothy. Frances was married to the love of her life, Charles for 54 years, and together they built a beautiful family. Charles predeceased her, and the thought of their reunion brings comfort to all who cherished them. She was the treasured mother of Charles, Elizabeth, Chris, Joseph, Maria, and Stephen, and the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, along with dozens of in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Her family was her greatest passion, and she advocated unity, faith, and love in all circumstances. Frances worked as a librarian, a role that reflected her lifelong curiosity, gentleness, and dedication to helping others. She lived in Whippany for more than 60 years, becoming a beloved presence in her community and a loyal friend to so many. Guided by profound devotion to Jesus and the Virgin Mary, Frances carried her faith with grace and certainty. Frances leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unshakable faith-one that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. May her memory be eternal, and may she rest in God's peace.
