Delph "Dee" Olney, 76, of Crooksville, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 6, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville. Born on June 30, 1948, in Muskingum County, Dee lived a life marked by dedication, joy, and the love of the outdoors. Dee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ocey Ernestine (Browning) Olney, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure. His legacy continues through his devoted daughters, Tricia (Steve) Brown, Arlinda (Vance) Patterson, Darla Driggs, and Deedra (Annie) Renzi-Olney. Dee was the proud grandfather of Dallas (Paige) Justice, Tequilla Olney, Kira (Dayvid) Brown, Mylin Driggs, Addi Driggs, and Amara Olney, whose achievements filled him with immense pride. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce (Roxanne), Olney and Rodney Olney, and brothers-in-law, Gary Browning and Brad Browning, special cousins Gloria Burkholder, Janet Finley and Gary Hartman, along with several loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Before his well-earned retirement, Dee worked diligently as a steel mill blaster at the Stone Quarry and had previously been employed at the Ohio Ferro Alloy until its closure. His work ethic was unmatched, and he brought the same level of commitment to his personal pursuits. Dee served as the Past President of the Perry County Anglers, sharing his passion for fishing with friends and family alike. His annual fishing trips to Canada were a source of many cherished memories, especially those taken with his late wife, Ocey. Dee dedicated his life to his family, supporting and admiring each member from his children to his grandchildren. He relished watching his grandchildren grow and thrive, particularly in sports. An avid softball player in his younger years, Dee later transitioned from playing to being the most enthusiastic supporter on the sidelines, cheering on his granddaughters with unwavering support and pride. Those who knew Dee will remember his kind heart, his infectious laugh, and the way he could tell a story that would captivate any listener. He was a figure of stability and strength in his family, and his guidance and love will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ocey, a grandson, Chance Douglas Justice and his parents. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 5pm – 7pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Family and friends are encouraged to stop by and share your favorite memory or story of Dee with his beloved family. At his request, cremation will take place, and he will once again be able to rest in Green Lake, Canada. You may sign the online register book at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
