Delphine Cortez Obituary

She was born April 3, 1941 in Taft, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Cruz Arispe and she moved to Winters at the age of 8. She married Raymond Pena Cortez, Jr. on November 1, 1959 in Winters and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2018. She worked for Williamson Dickey Sewing Factory in Fort Worth for 25 years. She returned to Winters in 2005. She was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Raymond Pena Cortez, Jr; daughter Nancy Cortez; sisters: Irene Rodriguez, Katherine Esquivel, and Pilar Flores; and brothers: Joe Arispe, David Arispe, and Manuel Arispe.
She is survived by 3 children: Stephen Cortez and wife Laticia of Fort Worth, Ronnie Cortez and wife Rebecca of Joshua, and Earlenda Farr and husband Terrance of Fort Worth; 2 sisters: Mary Ellen Martinez of Abilene and Susie Castillo of Tatum; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at Winters Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery.
