Celebrating the life of Delphine Lynn Johnson-Jackson, born on November 20, 1949. Delphine Jackson was one of four daughters born to Comer Edward and Sally Jean Johnson.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she held strong convictions about the importance of family, education, and moral values. From the day she was born, she was truly a remarkable person, embodying heart, mind, and beauty in every way, as she is altogether beautiful. Delphine attended the Denver Public School system, embarking on a blessed journey. While attending Manual High School, she met Columbus Jackson, and together, they had four children. Patrick, Catherine, Anthony, and Christopher.
While being a mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend, an educator, a student, a mentor, Delphine fought through adversity, as a Black-Hispanic woman. Delphine dedicated 30 years of employment to Navajo Trucking Corporation where she worked as an Accounting and Systems Specialist. She later grew and journeyed into several accomplishments. She began her Evangelical Training at St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church in 2000, she then went on to become a graduate of Leadership school in 2008, which allowed her to teach courses in biblical foundation to youth as a Sunday School Teacher. She began and completed her college education at the Community College of Denver where she graduated with honors and with an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Information Technology and later furthered her education with Computer Technology Certifications. Delphine enjoyed gardening, fishing, music, and dancing.
Commencing with an understanding of life in this time and era, she shared a life of strength and faith with her family. Her children Patrick (Bobbie), Catherine (Stanley), Anthony, and Christopher. Delphine was blessed with eight grandchildren. Samantha (Marcus), Jessica, Brittani, Joshua, Raquel, Patrick, Donovan, Deandre, five great-grandchildren, Amaris, Heaven, Xavier, Carter, and Christopher. She embraced this journey with a commitment to learning and teaching.
As Maya Angelou beautifully expressed, "Love recognizes no barriers; it jumps hurdles, leaps fences, and penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope." Inspired by this sentiment, Delphine dedicated herself to spreading love and hope in the world.
Some women fear the faith and the flame of life, while others, like Delphine Lynn Jackson, became it.
Preceded in death by love, her parents, Comer and Sally, her sisters Sally, Elizabeth, and Colleen and two of her children Anthony and Christopher, and a great-grandchild Aleigha.
