Delton Varnell

Delton Varnell passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 93. He was born on Wednesday, May 29, 1929 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to the late Katie Franks Varnell and the late Mack Varnell, Sr. He was a resident of Albany, Louisiana.

Delton is survived by his daughters, Glenva Puma and her husband, Larry, Delta Kovach and her husband, Frank, and Shirley Hoback and her husband, Vernon; grandchildren, Shawn Crawford (Jonny Daniel), George Crawford, Jr., Bridgett K. Mack (Shane), Amy M. Watts (Jim), Wyatt Crawford (Natasha), Kyle McKaskle (Amy), and Robin Crawford; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Dylan, Mindy, Annabelle, Emma, Emily, Leah, Brady, Elizabeth, Adalyn, Charlie, Sadie, and Lincoln.

In addition to his parents, Delton was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lorene B. Varnell; grandson, Ryan Frank Kovach; brothers, Andrew Varvell and Mack Varnell, Jr.; and infant sister, Glenver Marie Varnell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM.

Interment will follow in Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Albany, Louisiana.
