Delvin Levon Finlayson, 86, of Endicott, Nebraska, passed away on September 24th, 2025, at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury, Nebraska. He was born on September 27, 1939, in Linn, Kansas, to Clifford and Hilda (Schuette) Finlayson. On July 24, 1958, he married Sharon Marie Miller, and together they were blessed with two children, Clifford and Peggy.

Delvin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather above all else. He will be remembered for his unwavering love of family and the many special times shared together. Early in life, he found his calling as a meat cutter and clerk, proudly providing quality food products to his community. His career paired naturally with his love of hunting-deer, coyotes, raccoons, and all varieties of game birds-allowing him to process his own harvests and keep his freezers full, something he took great pride in.

In his younger years, Delvin enjoyed horseback riding, training his bird dogs, home improvement projects, caring for his vehicles, camping, fishing, and boating. Many of these passions carried into retirement, when he and Sharon served nearly twenty years as camp hosts at Lovewell State Park in Kansas. This role allowed them to spend summers camping, boating, and fishing, and winters traveling south to Padre Island until it was time to return for the next camping season. Delvin lived with a philosophy of working to live-his careers complemented his hobbies, and his hobbies became his life's work.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his son, Clifford; his daughter, Peggy (Mitchell) & Lyle Norton; his brothers, Jim (Maxine) Finlayson and Don (Colleen) Finlayson; and sisters-in-law, Karen Arend and Darlene (Mike) Harris. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Chris Mitchell, Jessi (Mitchell) Zerbe (Brent), and Brandon Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren, Kenzie Zerbe, Aiden Mitchell, and Kellen Zerbe. Delvin will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Hilda; his sister, Carol Criner; his father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Myrtle Miller; his brothers-in-law, Lorren "Jim/Fatso" Criner and Wendy Arend; his sister and brother-in-law, June and Wilbur Hanson; and several other beloved family members who passed before him.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Burial will take place at Washington City Cemetery in Washington, Kansas, with interment to be scheduled at a later date. Immediate family and friends will be notified accordingly. Memorials may be given by helping your family, friends, and neighbors, as Delvin so often did. He would have wanted everyone to "pay it forward," and, if you are nearby, to stop in and visit with Sharon.

"He lived quietly, loved deeply, and found joy in life's simple blessings. His legacy of kindness and humility will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He asked for little but gave so much, leaving behind a life well-lived and a family well-loved."
