Demetra Grimpas "Toula" Bargas

On Sunday, January 30, 2022, Demetra "Toula" Bargas of Forest Hills peacefully went to be with Lord while surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece on December 14, 1935, Toula immigrated to the U.S. as new bride in 1956.
Beloved wife of the late Kosti "Gus" Bargas for 44 years, Toula is survived by her daughters: Tina Rushe' of Pittsburgh, Ginny (Emanuel) Mamatas of Washington, D.C. and Nikki (Andy) Christiansen of Atlanta, GA. Toula is predeceased by her brother Thanassi (late Dina) Grimpas of Thessaloniki and is survived by her sister Christina (late John) Rigas of Veria, Greece, and brother John (Marina) Grimpas of Athens, Greece.
Loving "Yiayia" to Demetra "Demi" (Cal) Stephens, Nick Rushe', Alexa (Remy) Biron, Dean (Kindale) Mamatas, Drew (Will) Tyo, and Cole and Mati Christiansen. Adoring Great Grandmother to Simone, Nehemiah and Isabel. Toula was a caring and beloved Aunt to many nieces & nephews, both here and in Greece.
Gentle, kind and loving, Toula created a beautiful home and life where she raised her three daughters; she also made time to work alongside her husband at his shop "Gus's" on Ardmore Blvd. She modeled her faith in the Lord to her family and was an active member of the Ypapanti Church community for over 60 years, participating in the St. Catherine's Philoptochos and Yasou Club. Quick to share her smile and laughter, Toula also dedicated years of her time and talent to baking pastries for the annual Greek Food Festivals.
Toula had a warm and easy way about her. Her love language was preparing amazing Greek meals to share with family and friends. She enjoyed time in her garden, reading, crafting, bowling, crocheting, and cheering on the Steelers. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren her greatest joy was loving on the littlest members of the family, always making time to hold, play with and sing to them they adored her too. Toula will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Friends are welcome on Monday, February 7, 2022 to The Presentation of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, "Ypapanti",where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Church address: 1672 Electric Ave., E. Pittsburgh, PA 15112. Toula will be laid to rest at Monongahela Cemetery.
