Demetrio "Mitch" Chupe

Demetrio “Mitch” F. Chupe, Jr. passed away June 5, 2025, at the age of 72 with his family by his side. Mitch was born to Demetrio and Pauline Chupe, Sr. on March 27, 1953, in Aransas Pass, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline F. Chupe and his sister, Henrietta Rios.

Mitch is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ofelia (Fay) Chupe; and their children, two daughters, Angelita (Enrique) Mendoza, and Michelle (Leonard) Chavez; two sons, Demetrio (Angela) Chupe, III, and Zachary (Daniel) Chupe- O’Hanlon; four granddaughters, Lacy and Anissa Mendoza, and Yancy and Zoey Chavez; and only one grandson, Marine Cpl. Corey Chavez. He is also survived by his three sisters, Patricia Valdez, Lucinda Benavides, and Azemy Wells; and one brother, Dennis Chupe.

Mitch loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, but specifically he loved his family, but he loved most of all the “apples” of his eye his grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. Funeral service will be Monday, June 9, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm also at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas.
