Demetrius Jenkins

Demetrius Dawyone Jenkins (Meechie) was born January 18th, 1983, in Chicago Illinois to Daisy Mae Jenkins. He departed on October 27th, 2023, in Columbia Missouri at the age of 40.
Demetrius attended Earl elementary school, and Harlen High School. He joined New Commandments Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor J.R Robinson of music in Chicago. He moved to Columbia, Missouri in 2006 and joined Mount Celestial Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined Log Providence Missionary Baptist Church on April 29,2018, and became a member of the Trustee Board in March 2023, under the leadership of Reverend David Ballenger. He loved music, and learned to play the drums, organ, and piano on his own. He also loved spending time with his siblings, nieces and nephews laughing and telling jokes.
Demetrius is proceeded in death by mother Daisy Mae Jenkins, his grandmothers, Anna Lee Ashford, and Leedell Jenkins, and Grandfather Isaac Jenkins.
Demetrius leaves to cherish his memories, His God parents Reverend Ballenger, and Lena Warren. his sons Jaylen Jenkins, and Demetrius Jenkins Jr. His daughter Heavenly Robinson, sister- Tiffany Brown, brother- Kevin Jenkins (Chaquila), God sister- Cassandra Mitchell, Aunts- Janice Webster (Joseph), Gwendolyn Bryant (Howard), Debre Walton (Michael), Jacqueline Harris, and Veronica Jenkins Pryor (Mike). Uncles- Andrew Jenkins, James Jenkins, Mark Smith (Florence), and David Harper. Nephews- Dawyone Brown, Jajuan Morrissette, Jaquan Morrissette, Kevin Jenkins Jr, and Daeshawn Morrissette. Nieces- Daisy Bryant, Daviona Brown, Janiyah Morrissette, Ka'lei Jenkins, Kiarra Jenkins, and Kamari Jenkins. Great nieces- Nyomi B. and Nylani B, and a host of cousins and close friends.
Friends will be received Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Log Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
