In Loving Memory of Dempsey Warren Ball

August 13, 1936 – August 25, 2025

Dempsey Warren Ball, age 89, of Buford, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 13, 1936, in Eudora, Arkansas, Dempsey devoted his life to his family, faith, and career-leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength.

Dempsey proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a remarkable 30+ year career with Colonial Pipeline in the petroleum industry. A man of integrity and diligence, he was deeply respected by colleagues and loved ones alike.

He was the devoted husband of Renee Ball, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three loving children: daughter Robin Dyer, daughter & son-in-law Suzi and Bobby Gower and son Steven Ball. He was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren-Nik Dyer, Cole Gower, Abby Knox (husband Riley), Lola Renee Ball, and Nox Ball-who brought him immense pride and joy. In his final days, he was cared for with great compassion and devotion by his caregiver, TY, whose presence brought comfort, dignity, and peace. The family is deeply grateful for the love and support TY provided during this tender time.

Dempsey found pleasure in the simple things: nurturing his yard, spending time in the barn, helping his son Steve with car repairs, and even changing light bulbs. A man of routine and community, he gathered every morning (except Sundays) at 6:30 AM at McDonald's with a group of close friends. His love for Renee was beautifully expressed through the thoughtful sticky notes he often left on the mirror-small tokens of deep affection.

A devoted member of Hebron Baptist Church for 25 years, Dempsey was actively engaged in the church community, forming lasting bonds of faith and friendship.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Ball and Ailene (Stephenson) Ball, and his beloved sisters, Virginia Stutts and Hazel Ann Ball.

As we gather to honor Dempsey's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us for visitation on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Corners Funeral Home. This will be immediately followed by his funeral service at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Richard Sims officiating, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Corners Chapel. Dempsey will be laid to rest in Peachtree Memorial Park. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hebron Baptist Church in his memory.
