Dena Lynn Daugherty

Dena Lynn Daugherty passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Meridian Village, Glen Carbon. She was born on March 8, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Emerson and Dorene (Hanson) Young. She married Douglas Lee Daugherty and he preceded her in death. Survivors include one son: Brian (Lak) McCartan of Chiang Mai, Thailand, one daughter: Amy (James) Castelli of Edwardsville, Illinois two grandchildren: Liam Dexter, Colin Dexter of Edwardsville, Illinois, a sister: Martha Norton of Carver Minnesota, a brother: David (Linda) Young of Enumclaw Washington, and many other extended family and friends.
Dena retired from Lindbergh Early Childhood Center as a teacher. She loved spending time with her kids, her grandkids, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Ceremony and Burial will follow at 1pm at Jefferson Barracks St Louis.
