Dena Finnegan, 36, passed in comfort and peace July 14, 2025. She was born January 14, 1989, in Pittsburgh, PA. The daughter of Brian and Denise (Metropulos) Murray.
Dena graduated Cum Laude with an Elementary Education degree from Duquesne University. She married Patrick Finnegan, & this past May they celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary and 21 years being together.
Dena loved to host parties and had a smile that would light up the room. She loved family trips, especially traveling to Surfside Beach SC, Notre Dame football weekends, Las Vegas & Disney World, she enjoyed sipping on a Margarita at El Campesino or having cold toppings at Beto's Pizza, but her most favorite thing to do was simply spending time with Patrick and raising her boys, Dena exuded positivity and grace even in her toughest days fighting breast cancer. Her strength and courage were an inspiration to everyone she met. She was a certified Yoga instructor. Dena was an amazing elementary school teacher and retired to excel as a Mom.
Preceded in death by her great-grandmother Elizabeth (Sullivan) Hagan, grandfather Constantine "Dean" Metropulos and Grandmother Patricia (Hagan) Murray. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart & husband Patrick, two amazing sons Ryan and Owen, her grandparents Bernard Murray and Arlene (Dombrowski) Metropulos, her loving parents Brian & Denise (Metropulos) Murray, sister Alicia, husband Regis Visconti and their daughter Hadley Ann Rose, sister Stephanie, and sister Bree, father-in-law C. Patrick Finnegan, mother-in-law Ruthann (Robertson) Finnegan, sister-in-law Erin, husband James Thomas & their sons Grey and John, her Godparents Michael Metropulos and Rose Ashby, her Uncle Mark Metropulos who was like a big brother to her and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
