Dena M. Miller

Dena Marie Miller (née Lassanske), of Abrams, WI, died peacefully at home on December 4, 2025 at the age of 59 from colon cancer.

Dena is survived by her husband, David Miller; her children, Rachel (Shane) Grulke, Benjamin (Abigail) Miller, Leah (Dennis) Rabie, and Jacob Miller; her grandchildren, Makayla, Bentley, Liliana, and Emma; her mother, Arlene Satorius; her siblings, Terry (Chuck) Gilman, Renee Lassanske, Glenn (Lori) Lassanske, and Todd (Tonya) Lassanske; and many more relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, George Lassanske, and her nephew, Dylan Gramprie.

Dena was born on April 4, 1966 in Oconomowoc, WI, and became a member of God's family through baptism on April 17, 1966 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. She was raised in Oconomowoc, WI along with her four siblings, and attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and School, where she was confirmed on April 20, 1980. She graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, WI in 1984, and married David on June 7, 1986 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. They spent nearly 40 years together, were blessed with four children and four grandchildren, and they had the opportunity to live in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maryland, and Michigan, where they were fortunate enough to make many life-long friends.

Dena was a faithful Christian and member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Green Bay, WI and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. She lived her faith through words and actions, was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, unselfish and caring towards her family, friends, and community, and a steadfast believer in the priceless value of Christian education.

Dena loved to travel, where she and David were blessed with being able to visit all 50 states during their time together, along with many long and relaxing vacations in Mexico with family and friends. She also loved reading, photography, and especially quilting. She was amazingly talented, and her memory will long persist through the dozens of beautiful quilts into which she poured her heart and soul. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, December 16th at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church on Packerland Drive in Green Bay, WI. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to Lakeside Lutheran High School, Wisconsin Lutheran College, or Kingdom Workers.
