Dena Nicole Wright, age 34, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was the daughter of Michael and Michelle (Miller) Wright, born April 25, 1989, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Dena began her educational career at Bosworth Schools. She later attended Carrollton High School, where she was named Prom Queen and Barn Warming Queen, participated in track, basketball, softball, and FFA. She graduated from CHS in 2007.
Dena was united in marriage to Ryan Hartwig. Together they shared their beloved blue-heeler, Bluebell. Bluebell and Dena were inseparable.
Dena served as Project Engineer for Continental Fabrication Services, a Division of Michels Pipeline Inc. in Carrollton, Missouri. Dena was also an entrepreneur opening her own successful Nutrition Corner and D's Designs.
She was vibrant and joyful, known for her humor and radiant personality. Dena was always ready to have a good time at social occasions or family events. Family events always included her bringing her famous deviled eggs! An avid outdoorswoman, Dena could out-fish, out-camp, out-hunt, and out-shoot anyone who dared to take on the challenge. Her humor was a compass, guiding her through life's adventures and ensuring that those around her were always ready for a good time. Family gatherings shone brighter with her presence, her contagious laughter echoing as a soundtrack of many cherished memories. Dena will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her bright light, loving spirit and infectious smile will forever be remembered. Dena was a Christian and a member of the Bosworth Christian Church.
Dena is survived by her mother, Michelle Wright of Bosworth, Missouri; siblings, Lisa Lewis of Warrensburg, Missouri, Sara (David) Rhodes of Carrollton, Missouri, Eric (Jordan) Wright of Hale, Missouri; grandmother, Ruth Miller of DeWitt, Missouri; niece and nephews, Dylan and Lily Lewis, Logan, Austin, and Corbin Rhodes and Ryder and Rhett Wright; her beloved dog, Bluebell; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dena was preceded in death by her father, Mike Wright, her grandfather, Dean Miller, and her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mildred Wright.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home.
Services will follow the visitation starting at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Mark Schuchmann officiating.
Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt, Missouri.
