Today, we celebrate the homegoing of Louise Maxine Wright, who was a dedicated woman of God, loving daughter, sister, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born on September 4, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, Louise was one of seven children born to Ruth Wright and Willie Wright.
At a young age, Louise accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Deliverance Center 785 DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. As Louise grew into a young lady, she attended Clara Barton High School for Health Professions in Brooklyn, New York, where she earned her high school diploma. After high school, Louise worked as a Civilian Police Officer in the New York Police Department.
In 1983, Louise Wright relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, where she was a sales associate at Woolworth's and an assembly line worker at General Foam. Shortly thereafter, Louise took a leave of absence from work and took care of her ailing mother until her death in 1996. Louise returned to work and ultimately from General Foam. Louise also served as an usher in First Church of Christ Holiness and Bethany Baptist Church.
On August 5, 2025, Louise Wright departed this life to go home and be with the Lord. Louise was a loving, compassionate, warm, and beautiful person who was beloved by her family. The love and the light that Louise gave to the world will be remembered and cherished by all whom she touched. Her mother, Ruth Wright, and father, Willie Wright, preceded her in death. Left to cherish the loving memories of Louise are her brothers, her sisters, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
