Denis M. Bryer, 67, of Plaistow, NH, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Exeter Hospital, after a long illness.

Born in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of Barbara (Wentworth) Bryer, and the late Lawrence Bryer, Denis was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, Class of 1976. After high school Denis went on to earn his associate’s degree from Northern Essex Community College and continued his education at Middlesex Community College receiving his bachelor’s degree.

For twenty-five years, Denis devoted his career to teaching and supporting individuals with disabilities at Coastal Connections in Amesbury, MA. His work there was more than a job; it was a calling. He touched countless lives with his gentile guidance, genuine empathy, and ability to help each person see their own potential.

A proud lifelong Boy Scout, Denis embodied the values of service, leadership, and compassion throughout his life. Those who knew him saw these principles in everything he did- from mentoring young people to showing steady patience and encouragement to anyone who needed it.

Denis had a vibrant love for the arts and entertainment. He was an avid movie enthusiast who looked forward to the Oscars every year, treating the event like a personal holiday. He enjoyed singing and could often be found lifting spirits with a song. A loyal Patriots fan, he rarely missed a game and cheered with wholehearted enthusiasm win or lose.

Denis will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara (Wentworth) Bryer of Plaistow, NH, brother, Lawrence A. Bryer and his partner, Crystal of Epping, NH, sisters, Terri-Anne Robie and her husband, Morton of Sandown, NH, and Judi Ortiz and her husband, Tony of Epping, NH, aunt Martha Sanborn and her husband, David of Street, MD, and aunt Sandra Mitchell and her husband, Michael of Danville, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews, whom he loved dearly. Denis was predeceased by his father, Lawrence J. Bryer and his brother, Steven J. Bryer.

The Bryer family will have a celebration of Denis’s life at a later date.
