Denis C. Flora

Denis C. Flora, 77, of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by loving family members on November 14, 2023.  He was born on September 16, 1946 in Belen, NM to the late Robert and Veda Flora.  Denis was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War.  He received his bachelor's degree from Indiana State and later went on to pursue his master's at Purdue University.  Denis was the former owner of D & E Machine and the current owner of Cushman Capers LLC.  He belonged to the Cushman Club of America, Hoosier Cushman Club and Southeastern Cushman Club.  Denis enjoyed riding his cushman motor scooter and making parts to the scooter, that are no longer made for public purchasing.  He loved being a Sheltie dog rescue owner.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Ledgerwood.  Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include his loving wife, Jo Flora; son, Jeffery Flora; step-daughter, Allison Boehm (Hailey Crosby); sister, Carolyn Ledgerwood; brothers, David (Bonnie) and Norman Flora; grandchildren, Alexa (Jacob) Ayres, Brandon and Jaylen Boehm; great grandchildren, Ayden and Sebastian Ayres.
