Denise Ann Derrico
March 8, 1956 – July 17, 2023
Denise Ann Derrico was born on March 8, 1956, in Bronx, New York to Elizabeth and Carmine Torchetti. She was the third of three siblings – sister, Lorraine, brother, Carmine, and youngest sister, Janine. She married her true love, Carmine J. Derrico, on October 30, 1977.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Carmine J. Derrico; sons, Carmine J. Derrico with partner Carlos Lopez; Nicholas with wife Michelle Derrico and children Mia, Alexander, Breigh, and Alyse; daughter, Ashley with husband Justin Bryan and children Sebastian, Giovanna, and Andreas; and daughter, Alexandra with husband Benjamin Bartlett and daughter Aurora.
Denise had an unbreakable love for her family, more so for her grandchildren. She said she was born to be a mother but lived to be a grandmother. Nothing brought her more happiness than talking to and being in the presence of her grandchildren. Denise had a bright and energetic personality that would light up every room she entered. She enjoyed talking to and meeting new people. That was evident in her career as an office manager in the medical field. When she was not working, she enjoyed collecting Barbies and rocks from places she and or her family visited. She had a diehard love for Barry White and his music! Denise possessed the gift of finding good in everything and everyone. Her love had no bounds!

My first memory of Denise we were 5. She went to kindergarten I remember going with my Mom to pick her up on day. We were inseparable from then on.
I was overjoyed when she found me on Facebook after losing touch in our 20's. So wonderful to see her beautiful happy face and get to see her lovely children grandchildren husband and siblings I remembered as kids.
The world is less bright without her shing light. I pray for her and her family always.

A truly beautiful human being with whom I shared many breakroom lunches at Orthopedic Associates in Poughkeepsie, New York. Denise, the world is a lesser place without you. But, at least all the children in Heaven get to be with you now. Your love is enduring.
