Denise E. Francis, 71, of Douglas, peacefully went to join her beloved husband Charles W. Francis on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Marion (née Arenburg) Ramsey and was raised and educated in Upton.

Denise was employed as a receptionist for many years at Alternatives in Milford. She devoted much of her adult life to her love for horses. As a avid equestrian, she frequently participated in the hunter-pacer trail rides as well as passing down this love by teaching her grandchildren how to respect and care for horses. She enjoyed many years traveling and thrill seeking, going to new states and many amusement parks with her best friend and love of her life, Charlie. Denise also enjoyed crocheting and has made hats, scarfs, and blankets for family and friends each and every winter.

She is survived by two daughters; Tonya Kanerva of Oxford and Tina Jackson of Douglas, a stepdaughter; Jamie Francis of Woonsocket, one brother; Donald Ramsey of Grafton, and two sisters; Donna Ramsey of Florida and Sheila Wilson of Upton. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Aubrey LeClair, Maranda Borges, Daniel Jackson, Whitney Morse, and Charlie Francis along with three great-grandchildren; Marceline Coger, Benjamin LeClair, and Madeline LeClair

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 9 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton.

Burial in Lakeview Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Bay State Trail Riders Association.
