Ms. Denise Joann Evers, 54, Jefferson City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Monday, January 19, 2026 at University Hospital Columbia, Missouri. She was born Thursday, May 13, 1971 at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City a daughter of James U. and Janice R. (Johnson) Bledsoe.



She previously worked at Super D's Drug Store, Roberts Drug Store, Rodel Cleaning and most recently at Oak Tree Villa.



She was an avid collector of eagles, elephants, Indians, books, dvd's and tools.



Denise enjoyed bowling, playing billiards, reading, cooking (most importantly Thanksgiving Dinner) and above all she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.



She is survived by her mother: Janice Bledsoe of Jefferson City; children: Anthony John Bledsoe and Harlee Nicole (Evers) Kempker of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Harper Jo Kempker and Julian Andrew Kempker; siblings: Dayna Bledsoe, Rebecca Gibson, Rita Trube, Leeann Baird.



Denise was preceded in death by her father: James Bledsoe and a daughter: Jillian Marie Evers.



In the last year of her life, Denise was guided by her daughter: Harlee into the light of God, building a strong bond and faith that welcomed her into the Kingdom of Heaven upon her passing.



A Visitation to Celebrate Denise's Life will be Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Meriwether Room at Tyler M. Woods Funeral Director.



Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
